Car and Pet Import

When moving to South Africa, many people don not just want to move themselves, they want to move their whole life. For some this means bringing the smallest (and sometimes not small at all) members of their family along - their pets. For others it means not parting with their car and and therefore bringing the same along. For both, pets and cars, special customs regulations apply and permits must be obtained.

Car Import

When importing a car to South Africa, documentation has to be obtained such as a COC certificate or the Letter of Authority. Rather than having our clients worry about the same, we will organize all the necessary documents for you. Once the car arrives in South Africa, it is examined by customs and a provisional payment is calculated. The provisional payment has to be made to customs and is refunded once permanent residency is received.

Pet Import

When bringing your pet along to South Africa, an import permit has to be obtained from the Department of Agriculture. We will arrange the same for you and send along the health certificate. Your pets have then to be checked by a state veterinarian who will then sign the health certificate. The pets themselves can usually be transported on the same airplane you will be coming on, as most airlines offer this service as long as the necessary documents are in place.
